FAQ
The questions merchants ask first.
Do you charge per-transaction or per-cover fees?
Commerce OS does not add its own per-transaction or per-cover fee. Payment processing is handled through Stripe at Stripe's rates, and reservation covers do not create a Commerce OS per-cover charge.
Can I change plans later?
Yes — switch up or down at any time. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. Annual prepayments are prorated when you upgrade and credited toward the new plan.
What happens if I exceed my included locations or registers?
Each plan shows the per-additional-location and per-additional-register price. Overage is billed monthly so you never pay for capacity you're not using.
Can I bring my own payment processing?
Yes. Connect your existing Stripe account during setup and you'll pay Stripe's processing rates directly — no Commerce OS markup. If you don't have Stripe yet, we can help you create one during onboarding.
Is there a free trial?
Pilot evaluations can include a no-charge trial window. Talk to sales and we'll scope the right pilot length based on your current vendor stack and migration needs.
Do I need proprietary hardware?
No proprietary terminal is required. Commerce OS supports modern iOS or Android tablets, Chromebooks, and browser-based registers that meet our support matrix, plus standard ESC/POS receipt printers, cash drawers, and Stripe Terminal card readers.
How does support work?
Email + chat support is included on every plan. Growth and Scale add phone support during business hours. Enterprise pilot merchants get a dedicated success manager during onboarding.
What about contracts or cancellation fees?
Monthly plans cancel any time, no fees. Annual plans cancel any time but are non-refundable for the prepaid period (you keep platform access through the end of your billing year).
